SAT Subject Tests (Typically taken in May or June of junior year and/or August, October or November of senior year): The SAT Subject Tests test a student’s knowledge in individual subject areas like English, history, mathematics, science, language. There are 20 subject tests offered. Students generally choose two or three. Very few schools in the United States either require or recommend the SAT Subject Tests. Students should check to see if any of the colleges they are considering require the SAT Subject Tests for admission or placement. Students should register online or see their counselors for additional information.
